On October 11, 2020, at 4:36 p.m., the room was as silent as it could be.
There you were, Winnie. I was just shy of 25 weeks pregnant and you were still in your sack.
My tummy was supposed to be your safe zone and I feel like it failed you, that I failed you. But as the days continue to pass, I’m starting to forgive myself.
You were our first daughter, the little sister to three big brothers and all we can do is wonder why this happened.
We are part of a club that no one ever wants to be part of, but the people in it know how to help us through it.
After 7 very long weeks, the pain is lessening, but still very much there. Triggers often set it off.
I look to the sky and notice just how much prettier it is now that you’re up there. I can’t wait to see you and hold you, baby girl. You’re forever and always in my heart.
